Privacy
Clankprint is in a free beta. This page says what we keep when you use it, why, and where it goes. The short version: we keep what you check, for two years, and use it to make the detector better.
What we collect
- What you check. The text you paste or the file you upload, exactly as received, its file name, the text we scored and the full result.
- Your account. From Google sign-in: your email address, your name and Google's ID for your account. We never see your Google password.
- Approximate location. For each check, the city, region and country Vercel works out from your connection. We don't store your IP address.
- Usage. How many checks and words you use, and when. Request logs hold timing and status but never your text, and are kept for 90 days.
How long we keep it
Checks are kept for two years and then deleted automatically. We can't delete a check before then, even if you ask. If that doesn't work for you, don't check anything you aren't comfortable leaving with us for two years.
What we use it for
- Running Clankprint: scoring your text, showing your history and applying the beta's limits.
- Improving and training Clankprint's detector. Checked text may be used to train and test it. That work uses open models on hardware we run or rent. We don't send your text to other AI companies.
- Statistics about how Clankprint is used, which never include your text or anything that identifies you.
The people who run Clankprint can read stored checks when they need to, for example to fix a problem.
Where it's processed
In the United States, by these providers: Vercel (the website, the API and file storage in Vercel Blob), Neon (the database) and RunPod (the GPU that scores your text; it sees the text while scoring and keeps none of it). Google handles sign-in.
What we don't do
We don't sell or license your data. There are no ads and no tracking cookies; the only cookies keep you signed in.
